The following resources are available in the Professional Development library under the interest group ATAPS. Access to resources varies with the level of membership, and is outlined below each resource.
Australian Teacher Aide Professional Development Planner
The Australian Teacher Aide Professional Development Planner is a complete catalogue of Australian Teacher Aide online professional learning resources, including upcoming live web events. Each resource will be updated to include the Standards that are addressed, enabling teaching assistants to participate in targeted professional learning that will assist them to achieve their performance and development goals.
The Australian Teacher Aide Professional Development Planner is in the Professional Learning library and available to members and non-members.
ATAPS Professional Growth Map
The ATAPS Professional Growth Map is a visual tool that sets out the Professional Growth Expectations for each Standard.
The expectations are organised under the four Professional Growth Stages: Developing, Proficient, Accomplished and Advanced, and provide teaching assistants with a guide to identify their increasing knowledge, practice and engagement. Each expectation begins with a key verb to help teaching assistants determine their stages of professional growth and set aspirational goals.
A teaching assistant is most likely to be at more than one stage of professional growth, depending on their experience, the nature of their role, and their qualifications. It is also important to note that the four professional growth stages do not correlate to years of service and are not linked to any industrial agreement.
The ATAPS Professional Growth Map is in the ATAPS Professional Development library and available to members and non-members.
