Critical and creative thinking teaches students to imagine possibilities, consider alternatives, and create innovative solutions. It requires students to be able to use skills, behaviours, and dispositions such as reason, logic, resourcefulness, imagination, and innovation in all learning areas at school and in their lives beyond school. These ways of thinking are considered essential to be a successful learner in the 21st Century.
The following resources will assist education support staff, such as teacher aides, teaching assistants, and learning support officers to encourage students to use critical and creative thinking skills.
