Welcome to the February edition of TA Talk.
The first school term is flying by and we are already midway.
February is an important month at ATA as we kick off our events program. We were really delighted with your response to our first live web event of the year, when Nerio Baldini returned to share his expertise on workplace bullying. Nerio’s video is now available in our professional development library.
This term we have had the opportunity to talk with many school leaders who have been giving us some positive feedback about the value of our upcoming leadership series for both teachers and teacher aides.
The first webinar in the series will be presented by Jo Opie, Head Teacher of the Jamberoo Centre at Oak Flats High School, in NSW. Jo will be sharing how she has built the capacity of the team to successfully support the learning and wellbeing of young people with Autism and behavioural difficulties.
All web events are free to ATA members, who also have ongoing access to the recordings in our online professional learning library.
If your school is still in the process of planning your professional development, we hope that you are finding our 2021 PD Planner helpful. As the planner is updated monthly, and has over 100 resources now listed, it has become a very comprehensive tool. Use it electronically if at all possible. It is now 31 pages!!
Congratulations to Waverley Christian College in Victoria, Wamuran State School in Queensland and Fisher Road School in New South Wales who have been with ATA for 5 years this month. We look forward to sharing their professional learning success stories with you, soon!
Best wishes for a great month ahead, and don't forget to join us, live, for our March web event.
Warm regards
Stella and Mandy

INDUCTION CHECKLIST FOR SCHOOLS
Teacher Aide Induction Checklist
In MyPLC this week, the hot topic was induction. It seems some schools have processes in place, and others, not.
This Induction Checklist can assist new teacher aides as well as school leadership teams to identify the key information and processes that will enable them to work confidently and competently in a new role.

Schools are saving money in their PD budgets
Earlier this year, we welcomed another 'corporate' group of schools to Australian Teacher Aide, a Catholic Education Diocese in NSW. 30 schools in this Diocese are now discovering the benefits of having access to over 100 online video resources including our evidenced-based program, Effective Teacher Aide Practices for Schools (eTAPS), monthly live web events and access to a national professional learning community.
A discounted membership option is available to all public, catholic and independent education sectors.
