DIRECTORS' CHRISTMAS MESSAGE |
|
|
Welcome to the December edition of TA Talk.
As another year comes to a close, we have much to reflect on, and even more to be grateful for.
This year we have partnered with some outstanding webinar presenters who have generously shared their expertise at our monthly live web events and contributed to our growing range of contemporary evidence-based resources which assist support staff every day in classrooms.
We have also collaborated with the most amazing group of educators on our shared vision to develop the Australian Standards for Paraprofessional Educators in Schools. We are inspired by the commitment of this group, who are all busy in their respective roles, but find time to participate in a project we consider will make education history!
This year, with the discerning expertise of our wonderful panel of judges, we declared the 5th Australian Teacher Aide of the Year and the 2nd Australian Teacher Aide Team of the Year through our national awards program. This program highlights the amazing contribution education support staff make to student learning and wellbeing, and we never tire of reading about the extraordinary work teacher aides do to enrich the lives and learning of students. Our small team at ATA has grown to a fabulous five, and everyday we are thankful for their collective skills, commitment, enthusiasm and 'heart' with which they serve our community. But without you, our community, there would be no need for all of this, so a big thank you for 'travelling' with us for another year, on our mission to empower educators to help students succeed!
The ATA office will be closed from 26th December to 13th January as our team takes a well earned break. Our best wishes to you and your loved ones for a Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and prosperous 2023. See you in the New Year!
Warm regards Stella and Mandy |

HAVE YOU MET OUR CUSTOMER SERVICE CONSULTANT, TAMARA? |
|
|
New member orientations are always a great way to connect with school staff, from Principals to Teacher Aide Coordinators and TA teams. This year, our wonderful Customer Service Consultant, Tamara, was kept busy onboarding new schools, helping them find resources to meet their professional development priorities, and demonstrating how to use the member portal. Here's some feedback from some of the school teams she met with: - Wow, what an extensive range of professional learning resources!
-
The website and member portal is really user-friendly, and everything is easy to find
- The Professional Development Planner for Schools and the Professional Development Record are great tools to help plan out the next 12 month's PD for education support staff
- A colleague from another school recommended ATA!
Recently, Tamara said 'It is such a privilege to be a part of an organisation that makes accessing PD for schools so easy. I even led a couple of orientations where the attendees were so overjoyed to have found Australian Teacher Aide, it sounded like they had won lotto!' |
