Welcome to the November edition of TA Talk. |

We hope you are all managing to sustain the energy required to see the school year through. How did we get to the end of November so quickly??
Once again, our thoughts and prayers are with communities in NSW and Victoria that have been affected by torrential rain and subsequent flooding, and some, multiple times. There certainly has been a relentless battering in parts of Australia. Luckily, we are a nation of resilient people!
Despite the setbacks for some school communities, this month's live web event, Supporting Students with AD/HD, was an absolute sell out! The topic was highly popular; we had over 560 people registered and over 330 attendees on the day. That's a record for us!! Clinical Psychologist, Dr Caroline Stevenson, is unrivalled in her knowledge on AD/HD, and if you are a member who couldn't attend on the day, we highly recommend you take advantage of Caroline's expertise by watching the recording in our Professional Development library.
Over the past month, we have been working hard on our live web event calendar for 2023, and are aiming to have many events published and available for registration in the next few weeks. We have revealed more information regarding the topics below.
Our last event this year, Narragunnawali: Reconciliation in Education, is on 6th December. If your school needs help with a Reconciliation Action Plan, Esma and Christine will definitely be able to give you some ideas. |

Lastly, and on a lighter note, we have acknowledged our 7th birthday well. As we all work remotely, our celebrations took place mostly online, with cake, chocolate bouquet and hamper deliveries to our team members. We took time out of the office to mark the occasion with a delicious lunch, followed by some future-focused planning.
A big thank you to our loyal members, as you are the reason Australian Teacher Aide exists! Warm regards Stella and Mandy |

RENEW OR PURCHASE A MEMBERSHIP AND PAY IT FORWARD |

Did you know that Australian Teacher Aide is a 'business for good'? This means that everytime a new membership is purchased or an existing membership is renewed, we are able to help others less fortunate, particularly with education and healthcare. Together, we are contributing year round to an amazing humanitarian project through B1G1, where every single cent donated goes directly to the worthy causes chosen by us!
As the end of term 4 is near, we invite you to be a part of our giving stories by renewing or purchasing a membership for yourself (if you are a teacher aide) or your team (if you are a school leader), in readiness for next year. Not only will you build capability through use of our extensive range of evidence-based member resources, designed specifically for education support staff, you will also be 'doing good' in a world that so needs our help. It's a win-win!

HAVE YOU READ OUR LATEST BLOG? |

There is some great research on building stronger teaching teams, but it is exciting to come across a school where teachers and teacher aides collaborate to achieve the success of all students. Team Tally Teacher Aides from Tallebudgera State School in Queensland were named the 2022 Australian Teacher Aide Team of the Year, and in this blog you can hear from three team members as they explain what it means to be a teacher aide at their school. |
