TA TALK
Issue 43
May 2019
Welcome to the May edition of TA Talk.
We are always looking for ways to improve. Read on to find out what is in store for you next month.
Soon schools will be able to post positions vacant advertisements on the Australian Teacher Aide website when seeking new education support staff. Teacher aides will also be able to use our job board to find work.
If you are a member of ATA, you will be eligible to advertise with us at no cost, for the duration of your ATA membership. We expect to have this new feature available to you in June.
Next Thursday and Friday, we are excited to be exhibiting at the EduTech Conference in Sydney. If you or your colleagues are planning to go, make sure you drop by and say hello. We will be at Stand 33. During the 2 day conference, we will be running a competition for a chance to win one of two school memberships.
Last year we initiated the Australian Teacher Aide of the Year Award to recognise the valuable contribution teacher aides make to student learning. It was tremendously successful with many high calibre nominations received. You can view last year's award winners here.
2019 Australian Teacher Aide of the Year Award nominations will open on Thursday 20th June and close on Friday 2nd August. Award winners will be announced during Australian Teacher Aide Appreciation Week, 2nd - 6th September. We will have more details on our website very soon.
Hope to see you at the EduTech conference. You can also follow us on our Facebook page, as we will be posting updates from there too.
Warm regards
Mandy and Stella

Sometimes, we do the darndest things. On the day we posted this, Maree wrote 'When walking home this afternoon, a student raced over to me and asked if I could put the chain back on his bike. I said, how do you know I can fix it? He replied, you teachers know everything ... yes, I did fix it and he couldn't stop thanking me. I love my job!'
