The aim of Stage 2. 1 is to determine the standards that make explicit what paraprofessional educators know and do, how they interact with others, and how they identify their own learning needs, within the corresponding domain.  

At the IRG Meeting held on 30 March 2022, the IRG members present reached consensus regarding the following Standards:

  • Professional Knowledge Standard 1: Know students and how they learn
  • Professional Knowledge Standard 2: Know how to support teaching and learning 
  • Professional Practice Standard 4: Contribute to, and maintain supportive and safe learning environments
  • Professional Engagement Standard 6: Engage in professional learning

We are seeking your feedback on the wording of Standards 3, 5 and 7.
