The Australian Teacher Aide of the Year Award is open to teacher aides employed in any Australian school. This national award provides schools with a unique opportunity to recognise a teacher aide who is making a valuable contribution to the education and wellbeing of students.
In Australian schools, teacher aides are known by many titles, including learning support officer, education assistant, paraprofessional educator, teaching assistant and more. The role of teacher aides is diverse and often complex. Teacher aides work across many curriculum areas, from Prep to Year 12. They collaborate closely with teachers to enable children with a range of abilities, diverse cultures and dispositions, to reach their potential.
The awards are an opportunity to acknowledge the outstanding work of a teacher aide at your school by nominating them for the Australian Teacher Aide of the Year Award. Nominations for 2019 are now closed.
